Every day there’s animal-feeding and egg-collecting to join in, and elsewhere on the farm there’s a Giant Trampoline, an All-Weather Tennis Court as well as friendly donkeys, sheep and ducks. Older children can camp in the fields, fly kites, or hook up with our friendly local sailing school for sailing, kayaking or windsurfing lessons: the beach is 20 minutes across the fields, five minutes by car.

Exhaustion and contentment are more contagious than a cold: the lovely glug of the evening’s first wine leaving the bottle never sounds sweeter than when accompanied by the rhythm of a happily-sleeping child’s breath…
