Rockpools, Sandy beaches, Lazy days...
Beautiful Beaches and Coast Path of the Roseland Peninsula
The Roseland has many beautiful sandy coves and beaches, and a Coast Path to set you tingling with its beauty.
The luxury of staying here at Pollaughan Cottages is its close proximity to many beautiful beaches.
A good place to have a lazy beach day or to join the Coast Path is Porthcurnick Beach nr. Portscatho, less than a mile by car so near enough to pop home for lunch, give someone a quick nap or maybe nip down in the evening for a quick sausage sizzle.
You can also walk to Porthcurnick Beach from here by following a public footpath across the fields in about 20 minutes...from the beach you can join the Coastal Path and you can walk as far as you want in either direction, and if we are here and have pre-arranged it, we can always pick you up if you are too tired to get home!
Within a 5 - 10 minute car ride you can be at any one of three or four more beaches a different one for each day of the week, all quite different and all very beautiful, sandy, lots of rockpools and a gentle slope into the sea.
Pendower Beach about 6 minutes in the car, about half a mile long and sandy all the way !
Porthbeor Beach about 10 minutes in the car and if you don't mind the steps down onto it you can enjoy a most magical setting, amazing rockpools and a real getaway from it all feeling !
Towan Beach Just the other side of Portscatho is another lovely sandy beach with fabulous rockpooling and lovely sand to play with.
If you don’t mind a bit of a walk you can find quiet beaches even in the height of summer and don’t forget you can have lots of fun even in the cooler Spring and Autumn/Winter months... just add a coat, a woolly hat and a flask of hot chocolate...for the perfect Roseland day out...
