This week sees the reopening of some of our favourite beach eateries and farm shop after their winter rest.

Curgurell Farm Shop just up the road from us opens its doors for the season with its regular supply of the freshest fish, crabs and lobsters, veg,fruit and goodies and cakes.

The Thirstea Co. is a travelling tea shop serving bespoke teas, coffees and cakes and snacks from its vintage van, normally parked up in the beach car park at Towan Beach near Portscatho

The Hidden Hut is now open all day every day on Porthcurnick Beach for al fresco lunches and feast nights. Feast night calendar can be accessed from their website but the tickets sell out very fast so you’ll need to be on the ball and registered.They also do pop up lunch feasts whci h dont require tickets and its def worth visiting for those !

New Kitchen and New En-suite Wet Room for Willows

During January 2014 we will be closing Willows for a complete reconfigurement of the en-suite wet room to give it a slick new look with new tiling, a shower area with glass screen to prevent water running all over the place and new sink and loo…. it will still be accessible for those a bit less mobile and hopefully a much better experience for all .A brand new kitchen as well will give Willows a trendy makeover that marks its 12th year since we converted it from our lambing shed in 2003 !

The Hidden Hut ,on our local beach, has become famous for its amazing Feast Nights held periodically throughout the season… they are VERY popular and sell out quicker than a Take That concert ! The list is being published to their website on Feb 15th and tickets will go on sale on March 1st - you can register here :

The Henri Lloyd Falmouth Week in 2013 will run from August 9 to August 18.

Henri Lloyd Falmouth Week has grown into the largest sailing regatta in the South West with more than 450 yachts racing over eight days along with a lively programme of shore side events.

The week starts with the Falmouth Classics, which sees 150 classic yachts racing in Carrick Roads and Falmouth Bay.

This is followed by six days of match racing for keelboats, traditional craft and dinghies in the waters off Falmouth Bay, the Carrick Roads and the harbour.

Wednesday is Champagne Day, a race for the big yachts with a 25 mile coastal course finishing in the inner harbour, whilst smaller boats race in the Carrick Roads.

On the shore there are activities to keep everyone entertained from a marching carnival and a firework display to themed party nights and samba bands. In Events Square there’s a daytime artists and Cornish crafts market while in the evening you’ll find a great line up of music acts.

There are daily live performances on the Prince of Wales pier featuring music, street theatre and dance, you’ll find a local market in the marquee on The Moor and you can take a fascinating guided history walk around Falmouth.

Take a trip on the water to watch the evening gig boat racing close at hand or for the more gung-ho show off your athletic side in The Trident Swim Challenge from Gyllyngvase Beach. Activities for the kids include free rock pooling sessions and special events at the National maritime Museum, Gyllyngdune Gardens, and Pendennis Castle.

The best vantage points to view the sailing are: Pendennis and St Mawes Castles, St Anthony Head, Castle Drive and Pendennis Point, Trefusis Point and Flushing. To view the dinghy racing, walk along from Mylor Yacht Harbour towards Restronguet Sailing Club.

The 2013 Fal River Festival will run from Friday, May 24 to Sunday, June 2 and will be full of amazing events.This year the festival really is going to be bigger and better than ever before with something for everyone to enjoy.

The festival is a celebration of life around the beautiful Fal River and features a whole host of events including th Fal Fish Festival, the Castle to Castle Swim and the King Harry Charity Gig Race.

The festival was established in 2006 and will be running for its 8th year in 2013. It’s a chance to embrace the places, people, history, culture, sport & industry that are connected by this very Cornish river.

Falmouth Spring Festival from 14-24 March 2013.

The Falmouth Spring Festival marks the start of Falmouth’s Festival season and sees the town bloom into life.

From a Zumba Zestival and a Spring Fashion show to rock pooling sessions and guided walks, Spring in Falmouth will be sprung with an eclectic mix of events.
